San Rafael Man Arrested Twice on DUI Charges on Same Day (CA Vehicle Code §23152(a))

71-year-old Gary Arnone may be the unluckiest man in Marin County – he was arrested for suspicion of DUI twice in one day.  First, at around 2am, law enforcement officers got a call that a man was driving erratically. Police then found Arnone parked in a Marinwood Avenue parking lot where, upon seeing the officers, he tried to drive away – hitting a curb as he went.  Arnone was taken to a Marin County jail, where he was booked on suspicion of a DUI (CA Vehicle Code §23152(a)).  This should have been the end of the story. An unknown thief managed to steal a Yellow Cab taxi near San Francisco State University and then take it on a joy ride – leaving a hefty fare for the cabbie to contend with.  The cab was left with the engine running at  the corner of Banbury St. and Denslowe Dr. when the driver got out to assist an ill passenger into the vehicle.  Someone jumped in and took the yellow Ford Escape for a lengthy joy ride – with several police officers in a slow chase behind them after the car was reported near South of Market.  The joyrider drove quite...

Arrest Results from DUI with Drugs (CA Vehicle Code §23152(a))

Haamid Zaid, 33, of Seaside drove his Oldsmobile Cutlass into a Budweiser display at the east San Jose Walmart on Story Road this past Sunday. Drunk Driving Hit and Run in the Mission District

23 year-old Cerena Barros was arrested on charges of drunk driving after injuring a pedestrian walking his bicycle, Aaron Wells, during a chase through the city.  With a blood-alcohol level over .08%, Barros is being held on suspicion of evasion, possession of a controlled substance, felony hit-and-run, and DUI with three priors.Barros’s situation is not necessarily rare in the state of California.  Many people find themselves in the position of being charged with a DUI after prior offenses and penalties and fines can be significant.
